Introduction of MLPA method

We have introduced the examination of selected genes using MLPA method (Multiplex Ligation-dependent Probe Amplification = “multiplication of many ligated probes”). This method reveals large gene rearrangements by measuring the number of copies of individual gene segments. In this manner it is possible to identify such mutations, which can not be found in another way.

Examination of the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes

Newly we provide molecular genetic testing of the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes. Changes (mutations) in these genes are the most significant genetic cause of increased risk of breast and ovarian cancer, and to a lesser extent also of cancer of other organs.
